Supply and demand

Roberto Rivera over at The Point refers to an article from the NY Times based on a report from The Pew Center1 showing "that for the first time in nearly a decade, the number of people entering the country illegally was lower than the number arriving through legal channels." The Times notes that some "attributed the trend to crackdowns that include record numbers of workplace raids and deportations." (Where have I heard that before?) The tough economic times were also to blame because "construction and service industries, which rely heavily on immigrant labor" have been among the hardest hit.

Rivera added the following youtube documentary that shows the trouble we might be facing if we can't lure more Mexicans here to take the jobs Americans don't want.
