These are the days

I've been a LOST devotee for the past two years. I have seen every episode (including catching up on Season 1 via DVD), I visit a LOST forum and have even been known to post from time to time, and when LOST is "in season," it is everything Amanda and I can do to not ditch out of AWANA early so we can watch it live instead of on DVR delay.

Of course, you may know that LOST hasn't been on since before Thanksgiving. Having faced significant complaints fron the show's fan base last season, ABC is airing Season 3 in two big chunks. The first six episodes aired without re-runs six weeks in a row, and next Wednesday will be the first of 16 straight episodes that will close out the season.

While LOST has been off the air, Amanda and I have discovered a new entertainment outlet. In December, ABC Family showed the first three Harry Potter movies on consecutive nights. Having gotten *hooked*, we rented the fourth one on DVD as quickly as we could, and also solicited copies of the books from my brother and sister-in-law. Amanda has read all six books already, and I'm half-way through the fifth book, which means I only have about 2,000 pages to go in the series.

Fortunately, it was announced today that the seventh, and final, book of the series will be available July 21st.

So, if I plan it right, I can finish book 5 before next Wednesday, ride the LOST wave through early summer, tackle Book 6, and then have Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows to keep me busy from July 21 forward.

I was disappointed to read that the last book will only be around 600 pages long. Does that make me an addict?

when you get done: i recommend the tv series 24. clever enough, there are 24 episodes, each is 40 minutes (aired over an hour). to add to the effect, i would really like to watch a season in a 16 hour period straight through. are you on board?

I'll pay for the DVDs. You pay for the Red Bull. Maybe we can get a corporate sponsor. Or, if we taped ourselves watching 16 hours of 24, we could post the video on YouTube. That would rock.

I believe LOST will be airing at 9pm CST Wednesday. Yay!

(24? On the Blockbuster queue. This had better be good.)

Ah…we rented the first LOST series via Netflix, just because everyone we knew was talking about it…and before we knew it, every night after the children were in bed, we'd be sitting up watching show after show… TOTAL addicts! We were so glad when we finally got to the end of the released series! LOL…
