The Sovereignty of God in 75 Easy Lessons!

A lot of what I've learned so far about Calvinism has come from the teachings of Dr. Curt D. Daniel, who gave an entire lecture series entitled "The History and Theology of Calvinism" in 75 installments. The audio for these lectures is available at the Mt. Olive Tape Library. The bit-rate is low, so they don't take that long to download if you have a broadband connection. If you're interested, I have them all and could burn them on an mp3 CD if that would be easier for you.?

I have a cheap little mp3 player that I put these on and I listen to them on my way to and from work every day. The series has two parts, "The History," and "The Theology." I just finished lesson 24, which is the last in the History component. I have found that knowing the history of certain denominations and theologies has helped me to understand how we got to where we are today. I can't wait to get into the theology section to really start to chew on the theological truths held by Calvinists throughout the centuries.

Obviously, anything that a teacher teaches should be tested against scripture. And, Calvinism isn't a study of Calvin. It is a study of the Bible's teachings on God's sovereignty, grace, justice, predestination, election, and so on. Calvin's name is merely attached to it. Don't get hung up on his name or anyone elses. One of the things I latched onto as I learned the history was that each and every one of the great "divines," as they were called, had at least one or two weaknesses in their theology or lives. So, keep that in mind if you decide to listen to any of these messages.

The messages can also be found at SermonAudio.com if the link above doesn't work in the future.
